Genuine mainly refers to something that is natural, not man-made, and truly meets its description. On the other hand, real primarily indicates the existence of something, and it is not hypothetical. Both words have the meaning of “authentic” but are used differently.

2. Real, as an adjective, means genuine, true, genuine, substantiated, authentic, practical, realistic, or immovable. As an adverb, it means very. As a noun, it refers to reality or the ancient currency of the real.
